Shari R. Pearlman, RCSW, JD is the Program Director and a Lawyer Counsellor at LAPBC since December 1, 2020. She is a graduate of Wurzweiler School of Social Work, NY, NY (MSW) and Rutgers School of Law, Camden, NJ (JD). She received her Certificate of Business Management from Portland State University, Portland, Oregon and is a registered clinical social worker in BC (RCSW). From 1999 - 2020, she was the Assistant Director of the Oregon Attorney Assistance Program. She practiced criminal defense law in Portland, OR and is a member of the Oregon State Bar.
Shari enjoys helping people and building community. She is experienced in counselling, giving presentations and workshops on such topics as career and life transitions, mental health and trauma, crisis intervention, stress, burnout, organizational and time management, alcohol, substance use and compulsive behavioural challenges.
Shari is a member of the CBA and the TLABC. She serves on the ABA Commission on Lawyers Assistance Programs (COLAP) Advisory and the COLAP Conference Planning Committee Chair, 2024 and 2018, Co-chair 2017. She was a Board member of Oregon Women Lawyers, and the Oregon State Bar Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
