On June 14, 2019, members of the legal community were invited to attend the 19th Annual Gratitude Luncheon, hosted by LAPBC. The recipient of the "Lawyer Helping Lawyer Award" this year was Jim Carroll, a long-standing member of LAPBC and a great example of someone using his own life lessons to assist others. Speaking candidly, Jim talked in-depth about his own struggles throughout his legal career and his journey to seek help via LAPBC, and subsequently, to help others as a volunteer.
Held in the Law Courts Inn Restaurant in downtown Vancouver, the luncheon was well-attended by many legal firms. Executive Director of LAPBC, Derek La Croix, spoke to guests about the stigma of seeking help for mental health issues within the legal community, and thanked the volunteers for their continued dedication in breaking down these barriers.
Thank you to everyone for attending this year's Luncheon!
