Strategies for Dealing With Concurrent Disorders & Addictions in Children and Youth

When:  Wednesday, November 20th, 2019
LAPBC Vancouver office – #415-1080 Mainland St., Vancouver, BC
12:15-1:30 PM

The pressures of raising a family and being a lawyer often leave parents feeling inadequate professionally and personally. The “on-demand” culture of the legal profession collides with the “on-demand” necessity of parenthood. In this workshop, Clinical Counsellors Judy Simonett and Lori Rock will discuss the challenges and some strategies for parenting children and youth with concurrent disorders and addictions.

Options for Lawyers is a networking, education and support group for lawyers making job or career transitions and for lawyers wishing to examine their options both personally and professionally. All LAP workshops are confidential and independent from the LawSociety.

This group meets the third Wednesday of each month from 12:15PM to 1:30PM in Vancouver at the LAP office, 1080 Mainland Street, Suite 415.

This workshop will be facilitated by Judy Simonett M.A., R.C.C., and Lori Rock, M.A., R.C.C. Lori Rock is a counsellor with the Vancouver Coastal Health Program for Concurrent Disorders in Children and Youth. Judy Simonett is a counsellor in practice in Vancouver for over 25 years, is a Certified Parenting Facilitator, and has a post graduate diploma training in Concurrent Disorders.
